Point Of Use (POU) systems fall into four main catagories; Single Stage Carbon Filtration, Multi Stage Carbon Filtration, Reverse Osmosis Filtration and CounterTop Filtration.
The differences between single stage and multi stage filtration is pretty obvious. Less contaminents are addressed in single stage and more contaminents are addressed in multi stage. Understandably filtering less contaminents cost less then filtering more contaminents
Reverse Osmosis on the other hand addresses all contaminents and the cost is proportional.
Counter top units address the least amount of contaminents but interestingly cost more when you factor in the continuing maintenance costs. |
